Creative

“A smile, a voice and a warmth that is captivating” Pete Moser,  Director of More Music, Community Music Company

The principles I rely on when working creatively are:

  • extended voice
  • improvisation
  • looping/recording technology.

Over the years I have had some fantastic creative opportunities. I helped set up the successful Children’s Music Theatre Company The Happy Gang, with intensive touring, recording and filming of 3 series for the BBC.

I have been a Voice Coach with various performing arts companies, large scale community shows at the Lowry Theatre, and small scale dance and circus companies, Collision and Stumble.

The funding of Creative and Singing training for teachers in the NW over the last 5 years has meant many many creative projects alongside teachers. These have been in mainstream schools, SEN settings and PRUs. Please listen below to the results of a ‘technology with voice’ project at St Thomas in Blackburn.

Another collaboration that keeps my ears fresh is Mouthtrap, a Vocal Improvisation Trio with Steve Lewis (Improvisor) and Sarah Hymas (Poet). This work challenges the limits of the voice and takes me to new places vocally.
